Anchors Away! How to Add Nautical and Americana Decor Outdoors

Nautical and Americana are two of my favorite styles. I love stripes, blue and white, and a mix of nautical accents come summer. With family and friends visiting on Independence Day weekend, our backdoor entry was in need of some attention to welcome our guest. The deck floors got a good scrub with soap and water. The next day, the deck floor received a coat of driftwood-ispired paint. After drying, it was time for some fun decor.

Summer means hydrangeas in ceramic planters, lanterns and candles, and a rope door stopper.

Add some ginger jars filled with patriotic flags for stylish and chic Americana accents.

A doormat with a nautical anchor and wave-like stripes reminds me of Cape Cod.

Carefully placed near the door, flip flops in a seagrass basket, decorated with charming anchor decor, assures we have happy feet walking on the hot blue stone patio on the way to the pool.

A wreath, more Americana patriotic flags, and over-the-door swag complete the nautical and Americana entry makeover.

It feels good to complete this project. For a before look, come say hello on Instagram @idhomedecor. With simple touches of nautical and Americana decor, planters and lanterns, our outdoor entry is stylish and welcoming ready for guest. Happy July 4th!
