Would you complain about the wrong rock put in your landscaping?

We hired a landscaper to put in a backyard, and the river rock bordering the lawn will tie into our existing river rock. Our rock is a very uniformly sized 1 1/2" gold color (dark orangy as the main color). They delivered a very white colored rock that was pretty large, lots of 3-4" pieces and I immediately called to let them know it didn't match in either color or size. They assured me it was just dirty and would match perfectly when they installed and pressure washed it, and they'd order rock the same size we have now (1" - 1 1/2" pieces) and mix them in to make it match better in size as well. Trust him, he said, it would match perfectly.

Well, shock, it doesn't match at all. Their rock is very light in color, not orange at all, and the pieces are mostly 2-4" and now tiny 1/8" - 3/4" pieces mixed in (badly, there's lots of places where he clearly dumped the tiny pieces on top of the larger stuff and didn't mix it at all). To my eye, looks weird as heck, and where it ties into the old stuff it looks especially bad.

I asked how we could remedy this and the only thing he said in a huff was that he'd remove and install the correct rock ( which I easily found at 2 local large landscape material companies, 1 1/2" Gold River Rock).

Am I being too picky? I feel like I tried my best to head off this catastrophe beforehand but he was stubborn. It just doesn't look great, and I think I could live with it for a few thousand dollars off but there's no way he's agree to that so my only option is to make him remove all the rock and put in the correct rock. (To put this in perspective, this was a $20k project)

Am I being unreasonable? I need to decide on this right now so I'd appreciate any feedback.
