This is our first home, and we have next to no experience in landscaping. Almost all of the landscaping in our front yard is overgrown. We would like to get rid of some of it, if not all of it. Do you guys have any great ideas? We would like to keep some form of privacy where the giant long privacy hedge is next to the driveway. We're willing to replace anything/everything, OR learn how to trim it way back without killing it.
Edit: We are in the south suburbs of Chicago. The house faces south. Lots of sun. For a small space such as this, we wanted to do it ourselves (budget unlimited but we're not millionaires).
