Need advice on shitty stone glue

So this is a unique problem that my landscapers pondering but wanted to ask for opinions. Here's the situation: got a new paver patio with seating wall installed in my backyard, and one of the stipulations in the contract was that it gets done before a party were throwing this weekend. However the lighting we're installing on the steps and along the top cap of the seating wall is on back order, which means the steps and top cap are not secured for the party (he can't glue them down until he installs the lighting).

My concern is that we'll have drunk people leaning against unsecured 50 lb top caps and going up and down unsecured stairs and someone could get seriously hurt if one of those stones happens to fall on their foot. My landscaper is concerned that the glue he uses is so strong that if he secured it today and then had to install lighting next week, the stone would break before the glue failed.

So here's my ridiculous question: what kind of glue can we use so that the top caps and stairs will be secure enough to be safe during the party, but not so secure that it will cause damage to the stone when they have to pry them off next week? I'm thinking even something like Elmer's Wood Glue would be better than nothing. My landscaper joked that he'll just Google "shitty glue that only lasts a week".

Thanks in advance for any advice!
