"Bamboo" in quotes in the title because I've heard a couple people tell me that's not really what I'm dealing with, but whatever it is, I'd like to kill it and could use some tips.

Some background: When we bought the place, the yard was an overgrown jungle with bamboo everywhere and at least six feet tall. That was last summer, so this spring (about a month ago now) we had everything torn out an sod put in. I'd hoped the new sod would help block the bamboo, but that's clearly not happening. The photos were taken last night (Thursday) and I mowed last on Saturday morning, so the stuff's growing fast.
Not sure what other info would be helpful, but happy to provide.
