Navy has been popping up everywhere and it’s being considered the new neutral. What makes it neutral? Well I suppose it’s a matter of preference, but in my opinion, a neutral color is a color that can coordinate and be mixed with just about any other color. I have been loving the navy trend for about two years now. A couple of years ago, I painted our master bedroom navy and added gold and brown accents.

Last summer I created this family room for a HomeGoods photo shoot and I absolutely love this navy couch. Aren’t all the colors amazing? Orange, salmon, and variations of light brown help keep this room cohesive.

This bedroom below features a deep navy wall, which looks great with the gray side tables and white bedding. I love how the two pops of green add dimension and contrast to the space.

My good friend, Kari Anne from Thistlewood, painted her son’s bed navy; it’s perfect paired with the neutral wood tones in the room. What I love about this room is that the navy is carried out in the roman shade and bedding. So pretty!

A simple navy throw pillow can even be added as a pop of color. I found this navy pillow with geometric trim at HomeGoods a couple weekends ago, and it looks great in the girls’ bedroom.

As you can see, navy pairs with just about any color. My personal favorite combination is navy, orange, and fuschia. Navy is a bold yet sophisticated color that can be incorporated into any space. Whether you are painting an entire room or adding one pillow, try navy—the color will most certainly make a statement.
