I have a few outdoor allergies but don't want to cover the yard in gravel to fix it. We have a small woodland shaded lot in zone 7A. It is primarily pine trees right now with some dead trees that will be removed. I'm looking for a woodsy feel with ground cover and plants of all sizes that are shade tolerant, ok in acidic soil, and low maintenance.
I'm allergic to:
Timothy grass - likely allergic to grasses in the same family - kentucky 31, bluegrass, fescue, pereninial rye, seashore salt grass
Bermuda grass
Johnson grass
Box elder maple tree
I'm definitely not allergic to oak, american elm, sycamore, black walnut, or pine. They didn't test any other plants besides weeds. Is there any common grass that isn't in my list of allergies? I'm pretty allergic to whatever is growing in the front yard, I think it's fescue.
