So first off, I live in Central California where it is very hot during the summer. I have noticed since it started warming up (90-108) my grass has started browning. At first, it was about the same as my neighbors' lawns, but in the last few weeks, it has become worse than theirs. I am watering two days a week for about 10 minutes in each zone. Two days is all I can water due to watering restrictions in the city. I have a tall fescue grass. I have also noticed that the ground is very hard underneath the grass. I have looked into aerating the lawn, but from what I have read, it says don't do it during the summer. I know I will not be able to make it green and lush during the summer, but I just don't want to lose it completely. Any help is appreciated.
