Help with new sod trouble spot (pics included)

I put down sod (zoysia) in our front and back yard about 3 weeks ago. Overall it is looking pretty good. I've been following the watering instructions - I set my sprinklers to run for 4 minutes, 4 times a day (twice in early morning, twice in evening), every day.

I've got one frustrating trouble spot in the back yard, right where the side yard turns into the main back. It's getting a bit of standing water and mud. To make things worse it is a high traffic area from our lab - who likes to sprint and turn through the area - pushing up more mud every time.

Anyone have any advice on how to repair this and keep it protected long-term? Was sodding this corner a bad idea to begin with - should I just tear it up and put down pavers or something?

Additional info:

Central/South Texas location. We were drenched with rains in May so it is hot and very very humid right now.

Soil was moderately fertile to begin with, I put down 2-3 inches of additional dirt (mixed with clay and organic material) before laying sod.

I don't have much experience with lawn care.

Thanks!
